JPRA Policies


The Jack Purcell Recreation Association offers a limited number of subsidies to those living in Centretown. You should apply for a subsidy for any of our programs at least one month prior to the required payment and registration deadline. There`s a 10-business-day waiting period and the application is subject to approval.  Request a Subsidy Application Form at the front desk at the centre.

New After School Program clients must apply for a subsidy for each school term, that is, from September to December and January to June.

Returning After School Program Clients must reapply for a subsidy in December for January. (Subsidies are award per full fiscal year from January to December)

Refunds will be issued for programs cancelled due to low registration. Refunds are also available under some circumstances and subject to approval. Ask for a Refund-Credit Request Form at the front desk at the centre.

Those 65 years and older are entitled to a 10 percent discount on all JPRA programs.

Age Restrictions

JPRA programs for adults are restricted to those 14 years and older unless accompanied by an adult.

Our children`s programs are restricted to the ages 5 to 12 years old.

Program Cancellations/Changes

Programs, dates, times and fees are subject to change without notice and programs may be cancelled if minimum registration is not met.

Privacy Policy

JPRA respects the privacy of all its participants and will not release any information regarding any client to any other party without the client’s written permission.


JPRA is committed to including participants with disabilities in its programs. A thorough counselling assessment and program referral is required before program registration.


Child Care Tax Receipts

JPRA will generate child care receipts for tax purposes by the 31st of January.  Receipts will be handed to current parents at child pick-up or mailed out to families from past programs.
