Seeking Volunteer Board Members for the Jack Purcell Recreation Association
What we do. The Jack Purcell Recreation Association (JPRA.ca) is a non-profit, incorporated organization located off Elgin Street in downtown Ottawa. We deliver recreation and leisure programs to the residents of Centretown, in partnership with the Jack Purcell Community Centre. Our programs include fitness and art classes, community events, and after school care for close to 100 children per day, plus popular summer camps.
We need your help! We are looking for volunteers to join our 13-member Board for a one-year term. Experience and knowledge in the areas of recreation, social media marketing, website content management and/or financial management would be great asset. We also value diversity on our Board.
Your role. Board members are responsible for overseeing management and the finances of the organization, and for determining its strategic direction. We meet monthly for about two hours, currently on Monday nights.
